The current owner of Onkaparinga Valley Residential Care (OVRC) acquired the old district hospital in September 2000. The original hospital was built in 1929. The local community played a big part in transitioning to an aged care facility and they have continued their support of the residents and the organisation during that time. The old district hospital has changed dramatically since 2000, with state of the art new rooms and facilities creating a quality and much-needed service for the elderly in the district.
We have been an integral part of the community for many years and are proud of our motto ‘Serving the Community’.
Management and staff believe that our residents deserve and have a right to quality care and assistance to live as independently as possible. OVRC offers options and supports the individual’s choice(s). Staff respect and treat each person as an individual, maintain their dignity and act as the person’s advocate for quality of a chosen lifestyle. We believe it is important to work closely with residents, their families and the health team, to provide the best outcome for their physical and emotional needs.
